We are excited to announce that our guest speaker will be Mavis Leno, Chair of the Feminist Majority Foundation's Campaign to Help Afghan Women and Girls and the United States' most outspoken critic of gender apartheid, discrimination and violence against women around the world.
Married to late-night talk show king Jay Leno, she talks about how she happily stayed in the background of his career until she became passionate about the cause of women in Afghanistan and how she pulled out her biggest trump cards -- her husband and her money- to bring attention to the needs of women around the world. I think she's a perfect match for our theme of inspiration and how one voice can make a difference.
