The accrediting body is the National Institute of Senior Centers, a subsidiary of the National Council on Aging.

They believe that self-discovery, learning and growth are vital to success and happiness in later life. They also believe that continued involvement and leadership in social and civic activities brings significant benefits to both individuals and society. Their members are proof of that!
Did you know . . . they have an award winning 10,000 Steps to Fitness program? Over the last year, 150 members participated and 85% have experienced positive health outcomes as evidenced by lower blood pressure, increased stamina and weight loss.
Did you know . . . according to the most recent census data, the fastest growing segment of the population in Bergen County is adults 85+? With increasingly fragmented families and the potential for record numbers of older adults needing care, there is cause for concern. This is particularly so for older adult women who have outlived their husbands. For this generation, it often means that they are forced to assume unfamiliar responsibilities that were the exclusive province of the men in their lives. The result is increased vulnerability to fraud, theft, exploitation and abuse and neglect. 560 of 55 Kip’s members are women. The majority are living alone. Our grant fund is funding programs to help older women deal with these issues.
